The marshes are characterized by their reed beds which grow relatively far from inhabited areas so that the natives are forced to mount veritable expeditions to go and cut them. Reeds can be used for certain roofs, for baskets, mattresses and for furniture.
The marshes are also home to a number of submarine plants. The "lemune", a thick dark green slightly luminous seaweed gathered using long poles (the lemune can be seen glowing faintly at night which of course helps the gatherer to target his pole). |
